PrimeCenter 4.1

Caldera Releases PrimeCenter 4.1

May 28, 2025

Caldera is excited to unveil PrimeCenter 4.1, the latest update to Caldera’s prepress automation solution. This new update continues our commitment to empowering print service providers with smarter prepress tools to automate their production. Whether you’re preparing files for printing or cutting, PrimeCenter 4.1 brings valuable improvements to streamline your production workflow.

Layout handling in PrimeCenter just got an upgrade. The layout list is now more intuitive and user-friendly, with key actions clearly visible and accessible. New metrics such as the covered surface and layout length provide better insights into media usage—making it easier to compare, optimize, and improve your layout strategies.

On the other hand, as part of our mission to support more production environments, PrimeCenter 4.1 now includes a new cut driver for the M&R Quatro Cutter X/Y, designed for direct-to-film (DTF) applications. This addition expands PrimeCenter’s capabilities in automating large-format printing and cutting operations, providing greater flexibility for a wider range of production setups.

In addition, managing file correction has never been more streamlined—or more customizable. In PrimeCenter 4.1, Check/Fix profiles are now fully integrated into the interface with a dedicated section for custom profiles. The new “Basic file checks: colors, fonts, resolution” profile replaces the previous “Basic signs” and “Basic signs CMYK” options, offering a single, fully configurable profile to match your specific needs. You still have access to essential checks like low resolution, non-CMYK colors, or invisible white objects—but now you can enable only the checks you need, giving you greater precision and control. Combined with multilingual support and easier organization, this update lays the groundwork for even more advanced automation in future versions.

Furthermore, users can take control of their production tracking with the new CSV production reports. PrimeCenter 4.1 automatically generates reports for each processed file, enabling users to monitor job statuses, identify errors before production, and feed data into third-party applications for better production control.
