August 18, 2025
Extending its commitment to innovation and excellence in prepress and print software solutions, Caldera released CalderaRIP Version 18.2. This latest update introduces improved features, advanced compatibility, and expanded machine support. This is to solidify Caldera’s position in large format printing.
With this new release, Caldera once again showcases its dedication to listening to clients’ feedback and delivering solutions that address the real needs of print service providers. Version 18.2 introduces important improvements and features across multiple areas of the software, contributing to better job management and smoother workflows.
Improved Performance and Reliability
One of the upgrades in CalderaRIP 18.2 is the improved processing of EPS files. In previous versions, users working with complex or heavy EPS files may have experienced freezing or extended processing times. In Version 18.2, this issue has been resolved, allowing users to import EPS files more quickly and reliably. This results in a smoother production experience. This is essential for print operations that deal with time-consuming jobs or high-volume workflows.
For HP Latex 630W, 700W, 730W, 800W & 830W, there is a new “Display White Printhead Warnings” option. When enabled, the printer driver displays two different messages based on your production. In this way, you will know what to do and will be instructed accordingly based on your print case.
In addition to this, and to further enhance cut accuracy through automatic media adjustment, CalderaRIP now supports alignment mark tracking for the new Kala KalaXY Pro.
CalderaRIP 18.2 includes automation improvements. They help save time and reduce manual steps in the production process. Notably, Summa F and S Series cutters are now able to automatically execute cut jobs on printed media generated by CalderaRIP.
This feature upgrade enhances workflow efficiency by reducing the need for manual job configuration. Users can trust that the RIP will accurately generate the necessary cut data.
Driver compatibility remains one of CalderaRIP’s strongest assets. In Version 18.2, Caldera expands its library of supported devices by introducing a new selection of Print and Cut drivers, including:
CalderaRIP Version 18.2 is available now via CalderaDock. Current users can download and install the update immediately to take advantage of the new features and improvements.
