Caldera Direct-to-Film V1.4 is Now Available

September 10, 2025

Caldera, a leader in large format printing software, is happy to announce the release of Caldera Direct-to-Film 1.4, a significant update that brings enhanced color accuracy, improved performance, and a refined user experience to DTF printing professionals.

This latest version features an updated Adobe PDF Print Engine (APPE) library that renders PDFs in RGB using wide gamut ICC profiles, ensuring accurate color fidelity and accuracy. The File Manager has been enhanced with a new “import date” field, allowing users to easily track when images were added to the application, improving asset and file management.

Navigation within the Image Module has been simplified by relocating the “Color Adjustments” and “Knockout” settings into individual collapsible menus, balancing content display and simplifying user interaction. Performance improvements are notable, particularly in processing PDFs from PrimeCenter layouts containing multiple copies of the same image for high-resolution printing.

Users will also appreciate a new blue notification toast that appears when printing linearization or ICC profiling targets, offering clear feedback similar to previous versions. The color preview of layers in imported PDF files containing both RGB images and spot colors has been significantly improved, resulting in better on-screen color accuracy.

Furthermore, Caldera Direct-to-Film 1.4 adds support for the Roland TY-300 printer driver, expanding hardware compatibility for users. You can now use your Roland TY-300 with Caldera Direct-to-Film to print accurate colors and DTF transfers.

Several important fixes have been implemented to enhance overall stability and compatibility. Caldera continues to deliver innovative print solutions that optimize production workflows with advanced color management, onboarding, and reliability.

Users can now download this version through CalderaDock’s automatic updates.
