A visionary team, cutting-edge technology, quality resources and Caldera’s scalability are the recipe for success at Barcelona-based wide-format house Graphic Factory.
For Nestor Sanchez, Graphic Factory’s chief executive: “Creativity is not about finding new ways, but new visions.” In his role as a visionary he has identified how to fuse the right staff with the right equipment – and he trusts Caldera’s technology implicitly to improve his production workflow and to help him attain sustainable progress.
Based in Barcelona, Spain, Graphic Factory Digital started its activities four years ago as a family business and has grown sustainably ever since. The company now competes with other major graphic solutions providers in the region and is considered to be an industry leader for the supply of affordable but high-quality indoor and outdoor advertising materials. Its clear market orientation places a special emphasis on the customer and, therefore, on its suppliers and partners. Because Graphic Factory’s primary objective is, in Sanchez’s words, “the customer’s success and satisfaction”, having the best technologies on the market is crucial to performance.
Graphic Factory has selected printing and finishing machines that assure both productivity and efficiency. The company employs numerous kinds of production solutions, including solvent, eco-solvent, UV-curable, textile and milling, and is able to respond to the diverse
imaging needs of its customers. These can be as varied as point-ofsale, banners, vehicle wraps and exhibition stands: in short, anything.
Sanchez exhibits a strong and constant interest in innovative solutions; his market vision and courage to face new challenges are the human engine that drive the company forward. As for the RIP engine that drives its print production every day, Caldera’s GrandRIP+ is his choice to run the fleet of five printers and two cutters. “Besides GrandRIP+, we have also installed Flow+ to manage the commercial and productive process of our business in a comprehensive way,” Sanchez states.
“Before we started using Caldera we had been experiencing problems related to our multi-RIP structure, the lack of a consistent workflow, the difference in color quality from one machine to another, and especially a great uncertainty about the final result of our jobs,” Sanchez emphasizes. “With Caldera our productivity has doubled, but what is most important to us is the level of reliability that we have now on our output, which was always unpredictable before.”
Another benefit that Graphic Factory has found in Caldera is its scalable architecture, which allows them to add more modules gradually as the needs of the business expand. This is inspiring Sanchez to refine the company’s productivity even further. “In the short term, we intend to add the ink-saving module, InkPerformer, as well as the Print Standard Verifier to ensure conformity to ISO and Fogra standards,” he explains.
Graphic Factory’s story is proof that a motivated workforce, constant customer focus and knowing how to choose the right strategic partners are the key factors to succeed, even at difficult times. ‘The best advertising is a job well done’, as they say at Graphic Factory – and, with Caldera, the team knows that doing the job superbly is no problem at all.
