French RIP software specialist Caldera has announced the upgrade of its range of pre-installed PCs. These updated hardware/software solutions provide enhanced processing power for the same price as the last version.
The C1, C2 and C3 v2020.11, have been developed in conjunction with DELL to be plug-and-print. They come pre-loaded with Linux OS and CalderaRIP. The idea is to offer users the peace of mind that comes with having a device that has been tested and guaranteed by Caldera, and that’s ready for immediate use. The new range of PC will allow to better take advantage from recent V14 pipelines and unleash the unrivalled power of your CalderaRIP software.
The three new PCs offer improved processing power over previous Caldera PCs. The new Caldera C1, ideal for small print shops, is 5% faster on contone compared to the previous C1 V2020.01, while the new C2 is 11% faster on halftone compared to the previous C2 V2020.01. Finally, the C3 has also been updated and is now 9% faster on halftone with Hardware Acceleration compared to its previous equivalent.
Furthermore, they all feature independent recovery thanks to the inclusion of a restoration USB stick.
The new PC range features a Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) Interface for SSD on PCle, which can be four times faster than SATA SSD. DELL ProSupport is included in the deal, with a three-year warranty, 24-hour 365-day phone support and onsite intervention on the day after calling.
The other two devices, the C2 and C3, are more powerful. The Caldera C2 comes with an Intel i5 processor and Nvidia GT730, while the Caldera C3 features an Intel i9 processor and Nvidia P1000. Both have NVMe interfaces and come with the DELL ProSupport package as well.
